Mountain Chalets in summer

Priener Hütte
The Priener Hütte lies at the foot of the Geigelstein and can be reached from Sachrang within 2 hours. You can walk there in winter as well. Snowshoes, however, will be of great help. From the big terrace you can enjoy a splendid view of the Kaiser mountains. In favourable snow condition you may go tobogganing down an 8 km run into the valley.
Starting point: Hiking car park Sachrang or car park Huben on the other side.

Stoana Alm
Stoana Alm with its wonderful sun terrace can be reached easily and quickly and, if you‘re lucky; you can enjoy genuine tyrolean “Stubn” music there. The tyrolean cooking may also induce you to climb up to this destination on a sunny summer evening.
Starting point: From parking Reichenau, near to Sachrang you reach the hut in 45 min. by foot.

Wildbichlalm
This mountain pasture (altitude 1.020 m), situated just across the border in Tyrol, offers a wonderful view of the Kaiser-mountains and the Inn river valley. It is reached on sunny trails in a leisurely walk of 45 minutes and is perfectly suitable for a short hiking tour in the evening sun.

Riesenhütte
The Riesenhütte is perched on a glorious plateau at an altitude of 1.345 m. The ascent takes about 2 hours and should be done with good hiking equipment. Alexander Egger, landlord of the Riesenhütte, offers genuine alpine cabin atmosphere and home cooking in the earthy lounge and on the sunny terrace. At full moon a full moon meal will be served with campfire high up in the mountains.
Starting point: Car park Lederstube in Frasdorf or in Aschau, steep ascent via Heurafflerweg.

Hofalm
The old, beautiful Hofalm can be reached from Hohenaschau in one hour's walk in two different ways: The first, which we feel to be by far the more attractive one, is marked, but, iy you us it, you do so on your own risk. After heavy rainfall it is advisable to avoid this route, as a short stretch of the route is then threatened by land slides. The second ascent is steep and leads to the hut through the forest via Heurafflerweg. The thing to do is to combine the two routes and walk in a circuit.
Starting point: Parking area Festhalle Hohenaschau, go past Gasthaus Brucker, then cross the river Prien. At the crossroad either turn right into the path you use at your own risk or turn left to follow the sign "Heurafflerweg".
Open June - September | Closed on Thu
May and October open Sat and Sun
