Once arrived, you can leave your car at our guesthouse and explore the mountain world around on foot. The one-hour ascent to Hofalm or to Maisalm, where you can enjoy hot and cold drinks and a snack, is suitable for the whole family.
The path to the Gorialm below the Kampenwand is somewhat more challenging. For the approximately two-hour ascent, you will be rewarded here with the most beautiful view of the Chiemsee in addition to Kaiserschmarrn and other typical alpine pasture dishes.
An alternative for tired hikers is the excursion to Steinlingalm. The difference in altitude of 850 meters is mastered by the cable car in a quarter of an hour. Afterwards, the walk is leisurely and level so that you can fully concentrate on the spectacular view from Chiemsee to the Kaisergebirge. The easy walking time is about 30 minutes.
Sachrang, a district of the municipality of Aschau 11 km away, was recently elected to the select circle of 'Bergsteiger Dörfer' and thus officially stands as an example of sustainable alpine tourism. A visit is definitely worthwhile, whether as a starting point for hikes in the Geigelstein nature reserve, or to explore the picturesque village with its numerous listed buildings and baroque church. You can use the bus from and to Sachrang free of charge with our guest card.
